Independent experts review the results of the studies and make a judgment on whether or not the product should be approved for market entry. Once approval is given, the product is further profiled. The basis of these trials is very large and can therefore identify even rare reactions. Approval of the medication for additional indications may result (phase IV – life cycle management).
